Among the great works of Michelangelo, da Vinci, and Renoir, can be counted another beautiful work of art created by a lesser-known mama and papa kitty. So beautiful is she, both inside and out, that her guardian has named her Masterpiece.

Masterpiece is an 11-year old Maine Coon mix who had been banished to the basement of her home, with no human contact, for the last 6 years until her kind caregiver came along to rescue her. When she emerged from the basement, she was soiled and matted, and sick to her stomach from chronic hairballs. After 3 months of consistent grooming and a steady diet of good food (both soft and dry), Masterpiece is now thriving. She is a Rubenesque 19 pounds of fluffy sweetness with a gorgeous black and white tuxedo coat!

Masterpiece has a beautiful soul and loving outlook towards humans. She is friendly to everyone she meets and gives her caregiver all the purrs and affection she has not gotten to share for so long. Masterpiece loves to ride around on her caregiver’s shoulders, giving constant purrs. If she wants attention, she will even roll around on the floor, purring, looking as cute as possible. She’s a playful girl, too, and adores balls, feathers, and playing tag with her caregiver. Masterpiece is truly “Art in Motion” as she plays. At the end of a fun-packed, Masterpiece is happy to cuddle up with her caregiver to sleep at night.

Masterpiece is quite afraid of the outdoors and cars, though. Given her ordeal, Masterpiece would probably be most comfortable in a quieter home where her humans can continue to build her confidence and shower her with the love and affection denied her for so long.

Once she has been adopted, Masterpiece will need a visit to the veterinarian for a wellness check-up and to make sure she is spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations. Masterpiece never forgot her good manners and always uses her litter box.

Masterpiece is located in Kerney, NJ. If you are interested in adopting her, please contact her caregiver, Ms. Raven, at: ravenkatcuba@yahoo.com, or call 201-772-9118 after 3pm. Please leave a voicemail if no answer, in either English or Spanish. Masterpiece’s caregiver can help with transportation up to 300 miles.
