As the news was breaking of the horrific and senseless killing of Cecil the lion at HwangeNational Park in Zimbabwe, Leo, along with 10 other kittens and the two mama cats that gave birth to them, were being pulled into rescue from an animal shelter in New Jersey.  They had been brought to the shelter, together and unwanted.  With the threat of euthanasia looming over their little heads, OMC! Rescue quickly stepped in to save them.  Today they are safe and being cared for by their loving foster families as they anxiously await their forever homes.

Leo is a handsome Maine Coon/DMH mix sporting a lush brown tabby-patterned coat decorated with little white highlights.  Leo is all about playtime.  He finds humans interesting and likes to observe their strange behaviors, but isn’t quite sure yet if he likes them doing what they call, “petting him”.   Hopefully with time he will figure out the strange creatures that bring him food and do his bidding don’t have cooties and then he will allow a nice cuddle now and then.

Leo is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and he has tested negative for FeLV/FIV. He is also litter box trained.

Leo is located in Burke, VA.  If you are interested in adopting him, please fill out an adoption application on our web site: http://www.omcrescue.org/form/adoption_application.php .  You may also e-mail us at info@omcrescue.org if you have any questions or would like to learn more about Leo.
