Maggie is a beautiful, 2 year-old Maine Coon/DLH mix with a glorious long tail and mostly grey fur, highlighted with splashes of cream and white just to give her a bit of a Dilute Tortie aura.  She is an energetic and social girl who loves to play and will keep diving and jumping at a sparkly wand toy as long as you have the energy to keep flinging it about.  When her human needs a break, she also enjoys a good catnip toy to rough up on her own.  After playtime, she will happily sit next to you with a paw on you (just in case she needs you to move that toy again) and purr away.  She adores having her chin, face, and ears rubbed and will practically push you over with head bumps when greeting you after being apart for a while.

Maggie is great with other friendly cats and has always been a loving big sister to younger kitties that she has shared space with at the humane society.  She will also be great as her forever family’s one and only kitty, as she will soak up as much attention as she can get, then be content and happy to spend her alone time lounging about in a sunny spot.  Maggie will be a beautiful, fun, and loving addition to her new family!

Maggie has recently recovered from a spell of eating too little, which led to an issue with her liver.  She has completely bounced back, with all of her blood work normal, and is healthy and eating again.  Maggie is a social eater, meaning she likes company and a little play time while she is eating.  Because kitties who have had eating issues in the past may be prone to have them again, Maggie will need a home in which her forever family will be committed to monitoring her eating and weight to make sure she stays healthy.

Maggie is spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations, and she has tested negative for FeLV/FIV. She always uses her litter box like a lady.

Maggie is located at the Humane Society of Fairfax County, in Fairfax, VA.  She will be available for adoption on or about March 31, 2015.  If you are interested in adopting her, and live within an hour’s drive of Fairfax, VA, please contact the humane society at pets@hsfc.org or call 703-385-7387.  You can find directions, hours of operation, and the Cat Adoption Application at: http://www.hsfc.org/org_contact.php .
