Safari was a owner surrender to a shelter and waited for a new home for about 11 months. She spent those 11 months in a small cage located on the floor of the shelter waiting for a new home and watching feet come and go. She was described by shelter staff as terrified and " we can only touch her head". Within 24 hours or less in foster care she snuggled up against my thigh and begged for love. Each morning she resigned back to her terrified self but warmed up with patience and kindness. This pattern was repeated with my husband and daughter. At the current time she will on occasion revert back to her insecurity but overall has made tremendous progress with people she knows and trusts. She is such an affectionate cat. Loves to snuggle and/or sit on our laps. She is also very talkative. I envy the lucky person that adopts her. She won't disappoint. Safari will need someone who is willing to continue working with her on trust. We don't know if she would do well with other cats at this point. We also have no history of her being around dogs. She would most likely do best in a calm environment.
