Hunter is a very laid back and quiet kitty. He likes to hang out by himself and doesn't really enjoy the company of other cats right now.  He is not a lap-cat or even a cat that will hang out with you in the same room.  Since he is new to us and we are still learning about him, we hope that with some time and work, he will enjoy laps and the company of humans.  He just needs time to settle in and feel safe.

He was bullied by the other cats in his previous home, so I believe he is wary of other cats and humans. He is still very standoff-ish.  He likes to wander off and do his own thing.   With a lot of time and patience,  Hunter should become a wonderful part of your family.

Hunter spooks easily, so a home without kids or a noisy home would work for him. When he is scared he runs back to his save room.

Things he enjoys are high places and finding new high places to explore to climb up to. So, having lots of catification spots would serve him well. Hunter likes wand toys, toy mice and crunchy sounding toys. He enjoys watching the electronic feather wand toys and will jump at them, but prefers to just sit and watch them. Hunter will chat with you when he is hungry,  but his is a small but enduring voice.

He enjoys being brushed and tolerates his toes and paws being touched. Hunter loves belly rubs and chin scratches.

He eats well and uses his litter box consistently now that his UTI is gone.  His litter is pine pellets and he doesn't like other litter. He is easy to pill when he is laying down.

He travels well in a cat carrier and behaves well at the vets.

Hunter is a Pure Breed Maine Coon with papers
