Shelby is a tiny little girl with a loud meow and a lot of energy. She seems attention starved. She popped out of her carrier and instantly started knocking us over with head bumps and rubs (she’s pretty strong for a tiny gal). She seems to like toys…was a little startled by a wand toy at first but then played and grabbed it to take to her bed. Despite being declawed, she hops into her bed to knead for minutes at a time. I think it’s a soothing behavior…like sucking her thumb. She does startle easily and will react with a quick nip and loud meow/hiss, retreating into a defensive posture. She diffuses quickly and after a few minutes of ignoring her, she will come back around with more head bumps. At this time, I’d recommend her be adopted to a savvy cat person who can spend time with her in interactive play to harness her energy, and can help her overcome her fearful, nippy behavior.
