Rosie is an adorable tripod looking for her furever home! Named after a character from The Lord of the Rings trilogy, this beautiful and petite 5-year-old Maine Coon mix came to OMC! Rescue via a rescuer in New Jersey, who saved her from the streets, along with her children, Éowyn and Pippin (available for adoption as a bonded pair: https://www.omcrescue.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=20292659).

No one knows what Rosie’s life was like before she was rescued, but it couldn’t have been good, as she is very shy and skittish. She is also missing part of her rear right leg. It’s unclear how that came to be, but the leg was already healed by the time she was pulled into rescue, and she did not require an amputation. (She gets around just fine!) Rosie does require a super-patient adopter who is willing to give her all the time she needs to feel comfortable in her new home.

Rosie recently had dental surgery to remove several bad teeth, and she seems to be feeling much better. She’s now missing most of her teeth — she was already without several when she came into rescue — but she has no problem eating. Rosie was also severely matted when she was rescued and had to be shaved in several places, but her fur has grown back beautifully.

Rosie is not a very active gal — she prefers to chill on the sidelines, watching her kids play. She particularly enjoys relaxing in one of the numerous crocheted cat beds. She would be purr-fect for someone who wants a calm, gentle, and low-maintenance kitty.

Rosie currently lives with several other cats, as well as dogs. She’s been fine with the cats, but she hasn’t had any interactions with the dogs, who are big and somewhat boisterous. She would probably be OK with a very calm dog. Rosie has never been around children before, and given her shyness, she would probably do best in a home without young kids.

Rosie is up to date on her vaccinations and is spayed, and she’s tested negative for FeLV/FIV. Rosie also has wonderful manners and always uses the litter box!

Rosie is located in Burke, Virginia. If you are interested in adopting her, please fill out an adoption application on our website: https://omcrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6177.
