Emarille is located in Alexandria VA She must be adopted into a home with another young cat OR another cat from OMC. She cannot be a solo cat or live with just a dog.
Emarille and her brother Soren were taken to a shelter around 5-6 weeks old. The shelter doesn't know the backstory, but the siblings were brought in sick and Emarille had a limp. After meds and TLC, the vet reevaluated Emarille's limp and determined that she has permanent nerve damage to her front leg. The good news it that she doesn't experience any pain, and despite not having a working leg, Emarille runs around and jumps and gets into things just like any other kitty. She had her leg amputated, and with her age and spirit, she's recovered with no issues and hasn't let her three-legged status stop her from jumping up on all of the tallest furniture in her foster's house. She was initially a shyer kitty than her brother, but that could have been due to whatever she experienced resulting in her injury. She's very happy to be curled up like a baby in your arms, snuggled against your side, or resting on your chest. She eventually learned that it's nice to be coddled by humans, and will now happily sit against your lap and ask for pets. She's happiest when she's cuddling or playing with her brother Soren, too. She is good with other cats and kids.
