***SUPER-SHY YOUNG BEAUTY IN VIRGINIA SEEKS EXTRA-PATIENT ADOPTER(S)!*** Butters is a 3-year-old, extremely shy Maine Coon mix who was originally part of a TNR feral cat colony and was taken in by a rescuer when she became ill. Unfortunately, that housing situation was only temporary, so she found her way to OMC! Rescue. After nearly 10 months in foster care and daily attempts by her foster parents to socialize her, Butters is still fearful of them and will back away and hiss if they get too close. She loves other animals, though, and really enjoys the company of easygoing cats. (She has not had any one-on-one interactions with the dogs in her foster home, but her foster parents believe she would be fine with a calm dog, as well.) Butters also loves toys, and occasionally she'll come out and play when her foster parents are in the room. Balls, mice, and other similar toys seem to be her favorites, but she's also very curious about laser pointers. Butters has been spayed, is up to date on her vaccinations, and has tested negative for FeLV/FIV. She also has wonderful manners and always uses her litter box and scratching posts! Butters needs -- and deserves -- her own home, with an adopter who's patient and willing to give her as much time as she needs to feel comfortable, as well as some friendly fur-siblings to help her adjust to her new life.
