Maine Coon / Domestic Medium Hair / Mixed (medium coat) : : Male (not neutered) : : Baby : : Large
Mace is a Maine Coon mix kitten that came into rescue with his siblings, brother Max and sister Molly, and their mama MacKenzie. At almost 16 weeks old (as of approximately July 30th), Mace is a squirmy wormy orange and white ball of greased lightning. He’s a happy boy who loves to play, and is very outgoing with people. He doesn’t mind being held and loved on, but don’t try to hold on to him for too long. He’s got important kitten business to attend to!
Mace loves his siblings and mama, and should get along fine with other cats and dogs.
Please note
:
Mace had an eye issue which has turned out to be from the herpes virus. He was treated and the eye has cleared up. He may need periodic treatment with eye drops, if it bothers him in the future, and our suggested lysine supplements to make sure his little eyes stay healthy. This is contagious to other cats, although most cats have been exposed to it at one time or another, be it on the streets or in a shelter or rescue situation, not all cats react to or show symptoms of the virus. It is not contagious to other species like dogs, birds etc. Although Mace has been around other foster kitties in his current foster home - none of the other cats have presented with signs of the herpes virus nor his two litter mates.
You may want to seek the opinion of your vet regarding this condition, if you currently have a resident cat(s) in your home.
Mace is not yet neutered and will require a neuter surgery deposit upon adoption, refundable once a neuter certificate from his veterinarian is sent to OMC Rescue. Mace is up-to-date on his vaccinations appropriate for his young age, and has tested negative for FeLV/FIV. He’s a little gentleman already and always uses his litterbox.
